You do not need a pipeline to belong here. If you know a business owner later, you can introduce them. It is not mandatory.
You can talk before you commit
You are fine starting with a conversation. Any money is agreed later, in writing, if you both decide to work together.

You want to be the developer
If you want to write the code, this is the wrong seat. If you want to understand the work well enough to sit in it, that is the point.
You expected a platform account deal
If you were hoping to open or lend a marketplace account, this is not that, and never will be.
